The Gruffalo comes to Manchester

We've just returned from working with Yr1 pupils at Holy Cross Primary School, Oldham. The 2 classes were reading the book and the brilliant teachers there had turned the classroom into the deep dark forest! We came in to work with the pupils to create costumes and a small performance piece.

We made Owl costumes, Fox costumes, Mouse and last but not least The Gruffalo! Each child had head dresses, tunics and claws. There was a lot of construction to begin with but everyone took their time and by the end of the day we had 60 costumes!

Jo was with in the main hall, working on some fab scenes that the kids could perform in an assembly. This included rhymes, songs and a few lines to be read. The Gruffalo is such a brilliant tale for children, with so many cute characters and parts to the story.

We LOVE this style of workshop and are already looking forward to the next one!
